MEET THE TEAM

DR Emma Sandford - Consulting doctor

Dr. Emma trained as a doctor in England and worked her way endocrinology, dermatology, vascular and neurosurgery onward into her chosen field of Ophthalmology, where she worked as a researcher and mid grade clinician for the next 20 years.

Seeing our piecemeal management of diabetic eye disease, age related macula degeneration and many other conditions she realised there was so much more we could be achieving for and with patients.  She studied and gained a degree in natural medicine in 2020 and in that year came across the elegance of ph360 with Precision Health Alliance. This seems to be a powerful tool in genuine individualised medicine.

Her prime focus since graduating has been mind body practices that help unravel why patients falls for a disease and what are their mental, emotional and behavioural landscapes that locks them into that cycle.  She prescribes as little as she can, focusing instead on diet, lifestyle, emotional and spiritual intelligence and lastly herbs and supplements.

Dr. Emma aims to educate, empower, encourage and support her patients to continue their journey into self determination and self responsibility to propel them into the best lives they can lead.  She is comfortable in any realm of health issues from the Integrative Medicine perspective, meaning that she can use many tools to tailor make your treatment plan.

Lynda Barlow - CLINIC MANAGER / DIRECTOR

With a vision to assist people with their physical health, overall well-being, and strengthen their immunity, Lynda founded Boost IV Integrative Health from her own personal experience with a serious illness.

“Looking for ways to boost my own personal health and immunity, I searched for IV infusions, which in New Zealand were not easy to access. I also found the experience uncomfortable, having to sit there for so many hours. Illness is a fulltime job so fitting in another appointment is always a task rather than relaxing. Combining all of the things I have learned personally, Boost IV was born. It has evolved out of a true passion for people’s health and caring for people’s emotional wellbeing. I have created a place you can relax in an armchair like you would at home. You can watch T.V, a movie, read a book, or have a chat with a fellow patient on a mission to boost their health. It combines time out with an integrative health appointment.

I have put together a team of kind, caring and passionate staff who are here for you personally to assist your journey. We put our patients first ensuring you feel relaxed, cared for, and safe in our hands. We are here to listen, guide, and assist you every step of the way to achieve your goals towards optimal health.”

Tamara Odwyer - Nutritionist / Cancer Specialist / Clinic Nurse

Tamara has a passion for overall health and wellbeing that she wishes to share with all of her patients.

Tamara is a New Zealand registered nurse and a fully qualified, UK-trained nutritional therapist. She also has a Diploma in Naturopathy. With her extensive knowledge and working with many patients with all ranges of serious health conditions and health concerns, Tamara is a wealth of knowledge.

“I would love to work with you to discover the powerful interaction between genetics, lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise for optimal health and wellbeing”

We are lucky to have secured Tamara to work from Boost IV Integrative health every second Wednesday to help our patients on their health journey. Tamara is able to assist you with additional at-home health supplements, how to take these, and the correct times of day to ensure the uptake.

She is also able to help design a nutrition plan to ensure your body is receiving the correct diet to assist you through an illness, or for those just wanting to adopt a healthy lifestyle and don’t know where to start. Wherever your journey is beginning Tamara is able to give you the guidance to ensure you’re on the correct path.

Nurse Catherine Gelling - Clinic and Mobile Nurse

My name is Catherine and I gained my Nursing Registeration in 2017. During my studies and career, I have covered a variety of specialities, catering to a variety of ages.

My clinical experience ranges from adolescent and child mental health, screening clinics, theatre/perioperative nursing, organ transplantation (kidney/liver/pancreas)- inclusive of those living with acute/chronic disease & failure; palliative care administering peritoneal dialysis, complex wounds (and VAC dressings), and administrating IV cytotoxic, immunosupressant and various blood products.

I'm currently working in Middlemore hospital, in the Neonatal Intensive care unit providing critical care and respiratory support to babies and providing support and education to mothers/families who have had a baby born premature or requiring urgent life support.

I have had the privilege to care and support the start and end of many lives. The moment I stepped into a hospital I struggled with the feeling of things missing. Within mainstream health services, I witnessed huge gaps and the lack of support and information made available to the public that had detrimental or contradicting effects to one's health.

I believe each individual requires tailored care and the mainstream generic approach is not the best we can do. Since stumbling across the Integrative Health field, my passion in healthcare has been reignited, and hope in true healing -for every individual-restored.
