BOWEL TESTS – BREATH & STOOL TESTING

In order to diagnose small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), you may have tests to check for bacterial overgrowth in your small intestine, poor fat absorption, or other problems that may be causing or contributing to your symptoms. Normally, bacteria are found in the trillions in the large intestine, where they perform various functions. SIBO is defined as an increase in the number of bacteria, and/or changes in the types of bacteria present in the small intestine. In most patients, SIBO is not caused by a single type of bacteria, but an overgrowth of the bacteria that should normally be found in the colon.

Studies show that over 50% of patients diagnosed with IBS actually have SIBO.
Common symptoms of SIBO:

Breath testing. This type of noninvasive test measures the amount of hydrogen or methane that you breathe out after drinking a mixture of glucose and water. A rapid rise in exhaled hydrogen or methane may indicate bacterial overgrowth in your small intestine.

This screening panel that is currently available for cancer patients is a set of niche blood work that is taken that shows metabolic targets and bio markers within the body. It provides the Care Oncology team of oncologists a view of your overall metabolic health. With this they can provide a plan to enhance and improve your overall health. This can be used while on chemo treatment, radiation, undergoing operations, or just during your cancer journey to provide validation of the treatment, supplements, diet that you currently have in place. Full guidance is provided on how to further optimise your overall health to improve how you feel.

New patients, this is done in addition to your initial consultation fee with Care Oncology London at a cost of $150 pounds. All bookings are done via Boost IV Integrative Health, all blood tests are done at our clinic for your convenience.
